We report that bicarbonate acts as a proton donor in non-aqueous CO2 reduction and that it can be templated by installing a urea in the second coordination sphere.

In collaboration with the Delley and Mayer groups, we report that electrolyte cation size affect interfacial acidity and electric fields as a function of applied potential at SAM-functionalized electrodes.

We had a group picnic at Spanish Banks Beach to spend some time together outside the lab and celebrate the end of summer. We all enjoyed delicious food, the beautiful sea view, and fun conversations. Thanks to everyone for their hard work this summer!
HIGH SCHOOL OUTREACH WITH STEM FELLOWSHIP

We are excited to have held the group’s first outreach activity virtually via Zoom. We introduced students in grades 10-12 to Artificial Photosynthesis and electrocatalysis through a short lecture, lab tour, two lab demonstrations, and
